CMS Features (Blogs and Articles) Launched!

Thanks to some generous donations from a few AAChat regulars, I was able to purchase and install the full VBulletin Publishing Suite on AAChat.

The Blog feature is currently deployed (feel free to test it out and write your own posts):

The Articles section is currently populated with default content and documentation, but I'll be organizing that section over the next few weeks and should have things under control there soon:

I'll be "promoting" a few useful posts and threads to articles, so watch for those trickling out, too.

Thanks especially to Terry K for his chart-topping donation (I won't be crass and say how big it was, but it was BIG) and for the idea to add the CMS features to our site.

Some of the pre-loaded articles are showing lists of CNN videos on the top right and various RSS feeds on the bottom right. Unless those can be restricted to Atom-relevant stuff, I'd suggest turning them off and using the space for more relevant stuff. You might also want to pre-create sections / categories for various Atom things, and possibly rename the defaults to something like "zsample-currentname" to indicate that they're temporary and will be removed, as well as sorting them to the end of the list.

Did you want us (or some subset of us) to be able to create articles and/or promote some of our posts to articles? Just curious, since you posted articles about creating articles and promoting posts.

Yes on the article creation for a subset, but not until I finalize the categories and purge out all the demo data. I'm heading out of town today, but I'll take my laptop with me and maybe work on it in the evenings.
