So, ... when is the Stig buying one?
I wish Bolus! It's all but impossible to find just a frame. The one thar Palatov sold on ebay was a major find...albeit too late for me.
The front of my frame from the roll hoop bulkhead fwd is straight. The rear is toast! It requires a very skilled fabricator to be able to repair it. The biggest issue is splicing the main tubes with new peices to get it cosmetically perfect. Fabricating the engine bay section is easy peasy. Nobody will supply me with frame parts. That would make it way easier. As an ex weld inspector and NDT guy, the integrity of the repair is an easy thing for me to specify and control but it's getting those main tubes to be smooth, in line and perfect so the splice is invisible that is the key to the repair. TBH, the damn car is sitting in my garage in a heap, still needing stripped down. Eventually I will get to it. The engine and tranny is perfect, sitting on a pallet waiting to be used again. I'll need front uprights, 3 sets of A-arms, 4 pushrods, shocks rebuilt/repaired and some fibergalss repair but not much else to be back to the way it was.
Good to see that Atom segment. Had I known they wanted to test an Atom, I would've gladly let them use mine...oh well.![]()

Have you talked to Tom Smurzynski?
He, Preston, and Jason from TMI all work(ed?) together in Tom's shop, Unique Fabricating. Preston was the guy who did the bends on all of the main tubes on the Brammo cars (you can see him in the Woolery visit flaring coolant lines). Jacob did a lot of the original work getting the UK design into the computer. http://www.unique-fabricating.com
None of them have any drawings (those all went to TMI and Ariel UK). So the main issue would be getting the dimensions off another UK Atom 2 chassis. While the Brammo parts were all laser-cut by an outside vendor, I believe the UK cars were all hand-cut and the rounds created by grinder discs, by Arch.
The reason I said "work(ed)" is that when GM Racing got their funding cut, Tom had to scale back quite a bit as they were a lot of his business. But he did mention that Preston was in the shop working on my Atom last summer. In any event, I'm sure he knows where they are if he needs them.
Are your main rails OK? I'm uncertain, based on your comment about "splicing the main tubes". Brammo's position was always that if the main tubes were bent, it was cheaper to replace the chassis completely. TMI confirmed that some time ago, but I believe they're rebuilding a Brammo 2 that had one damaged main rail (out of 4). You'd know what is or isn't safe a lot better than I would.
