Perhaps he was going to use it for his EV prototype/tests and decided to create the dp1e instead.
It definitely is a genuine atom chassis and not some backyard knockoff.
I'm interested in the uprights in said Ebay link. They look like forged aluminum not welded sheet metal. 10K's cheap too. I'm even tempted but I've got no time or room.
I believe the 3's have cast uprights,and not the fabbed ones like brammo used,although,they could also be DP's own creations. If that car was closer..I would make room.

Neither Ariel or DP are going to be set up for forging and casting their own parts. It would be cool to know where they came from.
