Getting a new DD tomorrow, prayers to the car gods needed

I'm flying to LA tomorrow morning to pick up a Forester XT. This one is basically a fully modded STi in station wagon form.

Should be an awesome DD for my commute (1500' hill climb daily). Built motor at 350awhp/tq, full suspension with nice coilovers, big brakes, fancy wheels, nice stereo, etc. I think I can even pull my Atom with it on an AL trailer (2500lbs tow rating), and then track the Subie if the Atom breaks (or if the weather is not Atom friendly).

I'm meeting the owner at a shop to do a full inspection, leakdown, and dyno pull. If there are no red flags, it's mine. So I'm asking for prayers to the modding god that the motor is not hurt and I don't have to buy a one-way ticket home.

There's also a Subaru track day at Willow Springs tomorrow as well. If I get the inspection done in time, I'm going straight to the track to get a few afternoon sessions in

Jury is still out on the wheels, might get new ones if I don't like em in person.

    Cheers,
    Jason

Good luck on a good buy.

Might as well stay and run Fontana on Sunday, two atoms scheduled to be there.

Oh really? I'm getting it checked out at FSR motorsports, 20 min away. Are you running Saturday too? I might come by Fontana instead.

How wall-y is it? You guys have a set of tools I could borrow if need be?

Nice thing about Willow Springs is that it's a few min from my parents house, so I can leave it there if I break it (and there are no walls to hit).

Only turn one at the end of the straight if you don't turn left. Not very technical and a good flat out front straight. Will be a good shake out for that car. Only one place hard on brakes and can be mitigated if you coast in.

Have some travel tools so depends on what we're fixin'.

Really don't know who's 2010 atom is running, he's running both days, I'm only running Sunday. I'm shaking out new muffler design for sound.
click on driver's list link and see if you recognize driver's name.

Hope lady luck was smiling on you.

I have been needing to replace my sunday family drive that we've had for 13 years. At 22 years old my trusty Ford will not pass warrant of fitness inspection due to car cancer in a few vital spots.

Luck must have smiled on me because my option was to find something inexpensive from the secondhand market and I managed to find a 2005 car with only 17,500 miles on it. So on Saturday I switched camps and am now driving this wee beastie from the General..

If you mean the Atom, no plans on parting with it anytime soon. But it's no good to take Mum, the kids, etc on a family outing. As for my DD (work) I have a Nissan 4WD SUV because I need to go in to areas where you couldn't take an Atom or the new Commodore (above) without getting stuck.
