Newbie - First Post

I have a 2011 Atom 3 in red with an anthracite frame and silver wheels. It has a supercharged K20A, roll bar, Wilwood brakes, chrome muffler, detachable steering wheel, and those tiny plexiglass windscreens which make everyone laugh. Because of my size (6' 5" and wayyy too heavy) I had to have custom seats made. They're pretty good.

TMI build the car for me a year ago, but this is my first post.

The car is registered in CA (SB100). I live in the Bay Area, adjacent to superb mountain roads which are perfect for the Atom (or motorcycling - I ride a BMW R1200RT). I enjoy giving people thrill rides. I even throw the keys occasionally to people I trust. The attention the car gets is a hoot. Naturally, I crave the acceleration.

I've yet to take the car to the track. All of my miles have been on the street.

I detest the rear view mirrors and the weak-as-hell headlights. Mark Swain has suggested I buy the mirrors from the SRA Atoms to replace my stock units. As for headlights, I'd love to hear suggestions.

Welcome. Any pics?

I did a HID xenon headlight install that makes them as bright as the sun now. It requires cutting and soldering of a few small wires but works great for me

Mark, you are the first person of size I have heard of in the "3". As far as I know, larger seats were only built for the "2". It is good to hear that the "3" has been adjusted! Welcome to the forum!

I had a fully decked out R1200GS when I bought the Atom, I then sold it as I always drove the Atom and the poor bike wasn't getting ridden

Hi Mark, Welcome! I'm way out near Memphis TN. We are glad to have you join us here. I would love to see a picture of your car on those mountain roads. Have you had any near misses passing on those roads yet? Grin

I also have HID's and visability is improved 1million percent.

And I now have the motrax mirrors................................they suck compared to the spa mirrors. Oh well I like the windshield

You should sell those SPA mirrors to the OP

I don't want to lol, I have some other mirrally mirrors I would sell that have indicators in them and are much larger than the motrax, both these and my spa aren't really going to work with the windshield as is
