Long time owner, first time poster

Hi, first post as required by law.

I have owned my 2003 AA2 275 for coming up five and a half years now. It had an earlier life as a 220 appearing on 5th gear. It lives in the South of London between Croydon and Sutton. During my ownership it has been used about 70/30 road and track and has visited the Ring several times, though always by trailer I have to admit.
To be honest partly due to a lack of free time and the length of ownership I am currently a little bored and distracted from my Atom. I took it off road on the 1st July because I couldn't justify the cost against the use it was getting. Apart from its MOT test in February its last outing was Atom X where we won the treasure hunt and two days later were banned from the track for being too noisy.

Anyway I thought I would come over from the other forum and join you guys to re-kindle my interest as one of the biggest enjoyments is learning about and discussing the various engineering mods and solutions that are being used throughout the community.
The factory are great but after well in excess of five years their solution to the totally rubbish madonnas is something bling that I could never justify buying for cost reasons. Of course they probably maintain its a cosmetic thing and there is nothing wrong with the original design.

I love the history of some of these cars, and the fact that you've done extra work to it. Sounds like it needs driven more though

Did it end up in a carwash by any chance?

That's the clip I was referring to. Of course now I watch it again it was a AA2 300 being tested, not a 220. That carwash would have been cold... brrr

Mine was put up against a radical by Vicki B-H in a head to head at Anglesey. Unsurprisingly it was slaughtered, its on youtube somwhere.

A more interesting race would be driving from home and then a lap on the track and then back home. I think you would be able to get to the track, race the lap and be back home even before the radical was loaded onto the truck

may be a race on how fast it is do maintenance after 75 hours of driving. Atom would be perhaps topping off the fuel tank, the radical would be... oh... just rebuild the entire car and engine...
