Atoms of Aotearoa

Hi from New Zealand,

There are only a handful of owners here and the following is my knowledge of local cars.

I am in Auckland and own the countries only original Rover powered Atom 1.
There is one other Auckland owner who has the countries only Atom 3.

It is possibly that two other cars may still exist in the North Island and both are Atom 2.
One is in the Southward Car Museum after being donated by its owner from Wellington.
The whereabouts of the second is uncertain as the owner moved to Australia and the car was put into storage.

In the South Island there are three cars. All are in Christchurch.
One owner has both an Atom 2 and a modified Atom 1 that now has a Honda engine.
Another owns the countries only 300HP supercharged car, also an Atom 2.

Good on ya for getting the communication among NZ owners started. Rover-powered? That's awesome! Have you posted pics somewhere on this site yet?

No pictures as yet Steve. I'm guessing that means either create an album under my profile or create a thread for NZ cars (that can be found more readily) and upload/link some images to it. What would you recommend?

I can't promise the other NZ owners will contribute much as most don't participate in forums. But hopefully this section serves to inform anyone searching for information on Atoms in this country.

Pics are welcome anywhere.

But the most common places for them are in your first "welcome" thread, in the Vids and Pics forum, or just add a Gallery!

I sold my z06 to a guy in Christchurch. It's probably as rare as an Atom down there. Black, LHD, with a 383, and a flamed carbon Fiber nitrous bottle, you can't miss it. Let me know if you run into it!

I've thought of taking the car down that way one year but might leave it a year or two until the mess from the earthquake is a bit more sorted.

Hi All

This is a very old thread so not sure if they get looked at any more, but I've just recently imported a supercharged 3.5 and interested to know who else has got what and where?
