Looks good now. Tested IE8 with Compatibility View both on and off, and Firefox 23. Though you were apparently seeing something entirely different than I was - I had no textarea in the reply "box", so couldn't enter any text. Enter key worked fine to submit a PM with only a title, though. Couldn't reply to posts because title-only replies are disallowed. All better.

Thanks, Napalm. That's very generous... but I think I finally got it solved. Ditched the shared hosting and now have it on one of my dedicated boxes. How's the speed now?
