    Atom Newbie

I just bought the Atom 3 previously owned by Fox Motorsports. I am pumped about getting it on my local track, Texas World Speedway, ASAP. I will be taking it to Barber when I can get my skills developed. I have a go kart racing background, as a kid, and then on to cars and finally, motorcycles. This has been a dream acquisition for me for the past 5 years, so now, I can finally feel what driving this car is all about!AXE

Welcome and glad to see some more track people.

TWS is a pretty decent track, I grew up there when it was being built and finally got to go back and run on it. It's starting to show it's age and is rough in some spots.

We require a full after track report.

I have probably a thousand laps on TWS from years of motorcycle racing and track days. Drove my wife's M3 for a NARRA licensing event/Viper day about 2 years ago and learned that car's lines out there(different from my motorcycle lines). I have no experience in Porsche/rear engined autos, and am 3 weeks away from Ariel delivery, so I need to start where I know the track (CCW) and concentrate on learning this car's characteristics. Thanks for the warm welcome. I'll keep posting up the Atom events as they occur!AXE

Ohhh.. OK. You bought the one that I referred to as the "Almost all carbon fiber" mobile.

    Congrats!

Atom hint #1 - Cold tires suck worse than what you're probably used to. Warm them up first!

CONGRATULATIONS. Barber is a great track and the Atom would be a hoot there. Usually I run the radical there. Very technical track.car looks great!ben

I've done two track weekends at Barber on a Street bike - 675cc Triumph Street Triple R. Did OK getting my chops back from major injuries sustained 2 years earlier, so taking it easy.....turned some 1:59 lap times. Good enough to not get run over by the fast guys. The Atom should be made for Barber.
