2012 "Go to" track(s) already planning

In keeping with at least a new track each year, I'm already working on next year's long trip to a new track. I've already been to 14 tracks including pretty much everything on the west coast except to the Pacific North Wet. Would go up to the PNW if Darth get's his tubing bender started. In the mid south I've been to Hallett, Eagles Cyn, Houston MSR, and TX World Speedway. I've been turned away from Fort Worth twice citing the Atom is "too fast for our folks".. Salt Lake was a pretty good track but ready for something new. Haven't ruled out VIR but it's about geographically the farthest from the left coast.

Doesn't seem to be much in the mid section. If I've got to drive past TX and burn $4 diesel. What's the "go to" tracks and what's the best time for weather?

Minimum requirements, has to be a big boy road course track and not pavement on the end of a dirt road. I'd like to be able to see on TV and say "I've been there." Would also like to catch at least two different tracks on the same outing. I'm pretty much self contained, but most big boy tracks have at least bathrooms and showers for drivers.

    Thoughts and guidance?

Road America! I'm thinking I drive there, wife visits family in northern indiana... i race, go to indiana and spend some time there, and drive back. Hell, I could even stop into Cedar Rapids IA and make it a work trip, and have them pay me for mileage, LOL

2 days each way (3 for you).

Watkins Glen.3.5 miles of paradise. Limerock. Just because. VIR..well that's a no-brainer with the Atom factory on site..not to mention the incredible track. If you are in the northeast doing WG/Limerock,you may as well hit Mt. Tremblant and Mosport..maybe Calaboogie too (in Canada) The Glen is a MUST do.

Dunno.. them Canadian's can be a rowdy bunch Eh? Plus are they going to hassle me pulling trailer over? Couldn't go to or get near Hoover dam because I had more than 40 gals of fuel.. ok well 60 gallons of E85 in the trailer might have been strange to them..

Besides it snows even more than your place Eh?

I'm allergic to cold.. and wet.. and pretty much anything not sunny and 72* (that'd be *F).

Ha! Mt.Tremblant is in Quebec province....they don't speak english and all the signs are in French. One of nicest places I have been in my life!! The people are a joy to be around..their pace is much slower than the USA. Border crossing are no problem..bring your passport. They don't get picky about fuel etc..just no drugs,no stolen stuff etc. Getting back into the USA is usually where any delays happen, but very rarely, and only if you give them attitude. I learned a long time ago: authority always wins...so respect that. The Canadian tracks are worth the time, especially Mt.Tremblant and Mosport. You will never forget them. Snow?? Not after May or before October..plan accordingly.
