    Craig,

What are you doing about the no anti freeze ruling?

I've still got anti-freeze and plan to continue to have anti-freeze for a looooong time.
So I would expect to see no cars with anti-freeze at these events.

I think they are cutting there own throat and it will begin to hurt after a while.

If they rescind, then they need to post that announcement on their web page.

Personally I think it's stupid, but it's there track and rules set.

    Maybe the anti-freeze rule doesn't kick-in till is gets below 32 :>)

At this point, I am going to play ignorant and see where that gets me. Yes, my car does have antifreeze in it. No, I had no idea that wasn't okay.
I'll keep you guys posted on the results of my devious strategy.

I agree about it being a dumb rule. It's the wrong answer to a real problem. Antifreeze spilled on the track will cause problems that are not simple to correct, but proper tech inspection (good condition of hoses, proper overflow bottle) is the correct solution, not banning the use of antifreeze. Gasoline spilled on the track surface would also be bad for it, but we're not banning the use of gasoline.

Anyways, I will be there tomorrow morning, and if they let me run, I'll be there all day. I picked up a nice tire pyrometer today (the first of many tuning tools that I will be purchasing over the winter). Hopefully, I'll be able to use it.

    Lapping Day Recap:

First, regarding the no antifreeze issue: The track management has changed their minds on this (after much input from the lapping community). The decision is that antifreeze is okay, but there is a 1-strike-you're-out rule. In other words, if you spill antifreeze, your lapping day is over.

It was an awesome day at the track yesterday. There was a lot of very nice machinery there, including a Lamborghini Gallardo (that almost went off-track at the end of the front straight), a Ferrari F430 (that never went on the track), 2 Corvette Z06s, 2 Caterhams, a Porsche 911 GT3, and many S2000s, Miatas, etc. There was also a Ford Escort that a group of guys were preparing and tuning for a 24 Hours of Lemons event.

The highlite of the day for me was running my best lap to date, a 1:14.4. This was timed with a stopwatch, so there is some margin of error there, but all of my laps that session were in the 1:14s, so I was very happy.

Now, this might not mean anything, but the last adjustment I made prior to that session was to put both the front and rear spoilers in the maximum downforce position. Prior to this, I have never adjusted them, and they came from TMI in the minimum downforce position. I personally would be surprised if they make any difference on such a low-speed track, but it was interesting anyways. A couple of guys there also said that the super high-level Autocross guys run big wings, and they typically don't exceed 60mph, so maybe there is something to it after all. You guys better order some wings for your cars right away .

The next event at PGP is Lap Attack on October 10th. As long as the weather is decent, I plan to be there.
