So any of you coming to the final? Just signed up.
I am bummed that I'm leaving town today for the week. I had a blast at the last event and will be there with you guys in spirit! GO TEAM SAM (Seattle Area Molecule)!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm in. See you all on Sunday Sunday SUNDAY!!!
It looks like work is going to keep me from the event. Right now it looks like I am missing this one.
That sucks, Norm. I was looking forward to hanging out with you.
On the other hand, this means I will be finishing one spot closer to the top of the standings.
Jay, Craig and myself attended.
Jay improved his times, down to 1:13s, watch out Norm, all he needs is a set of A6 tires and you'll be fighting each other.
Craig is learning quick, but still needs some camber and ride height adjustment, as he's riding on the bumpstops and that is not a good thing.
So why does TMI deliver a car with such a crappy initial setup. This is the second TMI car I have pointed that out the the owner, that as soon as you get into the car, it is bottomed out the front suspension travel.
I did not improve any of the lap records, it was cold and took a session to get any heat into the hoosiers.
I was not running at 10 10ths today, more like 7 10ths.
I didn't rain or sprinkle at all today.
Attendance was in the low twenties.
At the drivers meeting, it was announced that no cars with anti-freeze will be permitted at the next lap attack.
I stuck around after the event an voiced my opinion on quite a few subjects, anti-freeze was a huge one and so was scoring and points.
I rather doubt that anyone will attend the next event, in October. I won't be there.
A Lapping day is far cheaper and you can make your own rules too.
Jay was doing some lap times with his I-phone, so it can be done.
On another note, during the last session my phone came loose and was flying all over the place. I was recording engine data.
It took a while to find the phone, it got a good beating. It was jammed under the passenger seat, really good. At one point I was convinced that it was tossed from the vehicle. Said to Jay, call my phone, I thought it was on vibrate, but it started ringing.
During Jay's last session he got really late, and broke a bit too late into turn 4. I'll let him share that moment with you.
I also had a "get off" during the practice session (CW), after the warm-up lap was completed, I was foot to the floor, well the first turn was giving me a huge amount of push, and i just wasn't going to make it. So I chose to go in another direction of travel, off the course and back on after the the S's section, you know those cambered turns off the main straight. No harm done and nobody mentioned it either, I was surprised. I started braking earlier too after that, probably why my times were seconds off today, There was a quick Miata and S2000 at the event so I had to keep the Atom on top., Oh and when my phone was flying all over the cockpit, i was a bit slower and the Miata beat me by .040, but overall , I won the event today and the lap attack 4 event series.
It was a good day had by all and I think Jay and Craig would agree.
Cheers
I can see no antifreeze if you have bikes out there, but cars? That's just silly.
Congrats for the win!
no antifreeze what? like the engine coolant? So do they expect you to run plain water or no coolant at all? Im very confused
the high profile toy thrower
Mark, congrats on winning the series!
Jay congrats on picking up so much time!
Sorry I wasn't there today, sounds like I missed out. It is the drift cars that were dumping all of the coolant by the track staff's own admission. What kind of garbage is this?
Yes, the drifters have spit out anti-freeze.
It's way worse that oil, and stays/gets embedded into the asphalt.
But they want to punish everyone.
i expressed my opinion, and stated that I will not attend any events in the future.
Atoms have dominated the RWD class and other RWD owners are not so happy with the Atom in the same class.
There are lots of issues they need to address, classing is one.
