well, I have about 10 websites / forums I visit. Nice to have all the new posts show up in google reader or some other RSS aggregator than visit every site to find out what is new.
Plus half this site is blocked by my works firewall for some reason.

You have a gmail account right? Go to
http://www.google.com/reader
where it says "add subscription" at the top just copy and paste the website of any news site or forum you go to. Almost all sites have RSS feeds now.
New posts or stories show up automatically when they are posted.
Try it with http://www.autoblog.com/
Easy way to keep track of a ton of sites at once. there are RSS readers for phones, etc
