installing an external LED alert for my radar detector and new turn signals

I really like the side emitting SMD led strips, so I'm going to install one on my bubble that lights up anytime I have an alert on my radar detector. I understand some of you are going tell me to slow down blah blah, but this post isn't so much about the radar detector as it is about using the LED strip and being cool and hooking it up to a radar detector at all.

Additionally I have purchased white and amber LED strips to replace my massive front turn signals. They are water proof and have ambidextrous wiring so there will be no wires shown at all. I will hack off the end of the turn signal stalks that are currently on the car and then install the flexible LED strip on top and below the round bar.

The turn signals will be similar to this, except I'll do an amber one on the top and white on the bottom of the stalk...or vice versa and the portion that held the old lights will be removed:

Here's a pic of the dissasembled power cord for an escort radar detector, all that needs to happen is the existing RED LED is removed and then new leads are soldered in it's place and run to external LED's should work well.

hooked it up to an LED light bar that was already in my car, I'm going to remove the rats nest under the dash in preperation for the new dash install. I only did this to make sure it generates enough voltage / amperage to run a LED strip, the real LED strip is in the mail.

also working on my shift lights so here's a clip of 1 LED used for testing

I have to wire up 6 LED's and 3 resistors for every LED then figure out where to place them.

I also purchased a new fuse box to clean up my wiring nightmare under the dash. and new switches that have LED's in them hehe

the cut out area is where the parking brake goes, I'll make it symmetrical when I cut out the sheet metal,

the tabs on top will be bent over and around the frame and then riv-nutted into place plus the long tab on top will mount to the top of the parking brake bracket and the center mount for the regular dash piece.

ON the furthest left I'll have a cut out for the radar detector speaker to play through

the cell phone will mount above the parking brake and will be hard wired in so it can always be charged. to the right of the parking brake will be the switches and the gauges
