Buying a wheel-tire setup for track days

I am about to (finally) sign up for a bunch of track days. I want to have a set of wheels/tires specifically for these days (and keep the stock Toyos and wheels for rain). What wheels are tires should I buy? I know I've seen people running Keizer wheels or the team dynamics... what is your preference? Wheel sizes? Tire size/brand? Seemed to me I'vce seen a decent amount of people using Hoosier autoX rubber. Also- if I run wider, I presume I remove the fenders. Is that hard to do? Can they be put on and off easily, or do I just take them off forever?

I'm still searching around, but if anyone wants to tell me what to do I'm all ears.

Just called Keizer and looks like $575 per wheel, but I'd need to figure out the specs as far as offset/backspacing. Maybe 8x15 front, 10x15 rear? Then slap some A7s on there? Still curious about if the fenders need to come off...

Keizer are solid, just don't get the magnesium cast centers. The Atom can load the rears to the point the magnesiums crack. Forged alloy centers only.

For fenders I tried to make a set from Skunkwurx that can fit 295/355. It's a project I gave up on but selling all the parts for $200 plus shipping if you want to continue to try to make them work. I put in well over $2,000 in them and they still need a lot of work, a weld, body filler, paint, etc. I just pick the organizations that let me run fenderless. I'd rather run Super Unlimited with NASA then every try to make some HPDE day with fenders.

EDIT: Why aren't the fenders just bolt-on?! Now that I am looking at them, what in the hell is this? Also, I see skunkwurx sells them as wide as 295mm- why not just use those?

I am known to miss things, but what I wonder is- why would you need to modify the skunkwurx stuff? Seems like I could order is as follows to clear the Kaizers:

You have to fiberglass or glue the Skunkwurx stays to the fender, so not exactly buy and run. Plus, their design gets loose fast and can fly off so I had to modify the stays once more.

By the way, let me say I appreciate your insights on the Atom. I feel like you've helped me out a couple of times already. If you ever get stuck in Miami let me know and drinks are on me.

So assuming I was to stay under 295 in the back, in theory I COULD just get those skunkwurx fenders and call it a day, right? I understand I'd have to epoxy them to the uprights that they sell. I am capable of anything, but it always takes me 6x as long as people claim, for me.

I saw that Eddie fella on here selling his Keizer wheels awhile back, and he was apparently running 225 in front and 23.0x9.5R15 in the rear (which from what I can gather online is about 240mm wide). Not nearly as wide as what you are talking- where is the happy medium here? What started all of this was the one track weekend I've done so far, grip was far and away the limiter. I mean, the brakes are infallible, the motor is plenty strong. Its grip- and with more of it I could get on the power a lot sooner out of 3 turns at Homestead (and brake much later). I mean, no matter what going to A7s from the R888s will be a huge swing regardless of final width, so I don't want to make myself miserable. I want to make a fast, solid plan and do it in the next 2 weeks so I'm ready for the track end of this month. There are a bunch of Sebring opportunities in April and I'm getting the chubbs just thinking about it lol.

Tell me what to do!!! In the meantime I'll email the organizations to see if they require fenders at all, but seeing as how I was to run with all of them I'm sure I'll have problems with at least 1 or 2...

I have a set of basically brand new/barely used (<8 sessions) Keizer 15x11 rears with aluminum (not the weak magnesium) centers that I purchased for $1062 in July (of '19) for my SRA. They are all black.

I used Hoosier 275-width A7s on them with no issues, just decided to go with narrower A7s to reduce tire cost.

Why make this so complicated, not to mention expensive? Enkei RPF1 clear the brakes and come in a variety of sizes and work perfectly fine, all at much lower cost. Plus widely available. As for tires - I prefer the Hoosier A7. Again - easy to get in variety of sizes.
