    AA2 Brammo replacement gas cap help needed

    I wasn't paying attention and didn't put my cap on when I left from a fill-up. When back and found it but it was damaged beyond repair. I found a thread that referred to an Aero 300 series flush mount for the AA3 and in the same thread a J&P Cycles cap only model #7200785. Will they work for the Brammo gas cap assembly?

    Well, that sucks.

    I believe these came from Newton.

    Yup, got that. They are Aero 300 series. What I wanted to find out which I did, is whether TMI used a different assembly with the AA3. They didn't, at least from what I found. So, I found a cheaper (don't know about the quality though but I needed it right away as I have an auto-x event next weekend) cap I ordered @ $42.00 2 day shipped which I was told will fit the flange. I'm praying.

    I lost mine during a track day and used a motor block plug until I got one from TMI for $110.

    Good to know. I found that Aircraft Spruce also carries the Aero 300 flanges/caps for around $90.00 but they don't always have them in stock. The one I found was from J & P Cycles, part #7200785 vented non-locking was $24.00. It's chrome but for now, it'll work.

    Update: The replacement cap fits fine, however if you plan on tracking/auto-x or spirited driving, DO NOT fill up above 3/4 of a tank. The cap is vented and will spill over. I was seeing about 10ml of fuel puddled in the fuel cup area at the end of a 50+ second auto-x course. BTW, I took TTD, lol. Here's my fastest run;

    Great driving! Your Atom looks fiercely powerful. Big time counter-steering there looks sexy.

    Is TTD a Nasa class? I thought we only fit in TT1 and TTU.
