FYI - that black FXX (#30) is Michael Schumacher's personal car. I have another photo of his FXX on my iPhone... which may or may not have accidentally taken a picture of that car in a storage building at the Ferrari factory in Maranello last time I was there... It may or may not have also taken a photo of the 599XX prototype.

The funniest accessory on Michael's FXX is the GPS mounted on the dash. It's a "track-only" car... it's not supposed to need GPS. But rumor has it that MS has had it on some European roadways. Can you imaging being the Gendarme that pulls him over? LOL.

I looked into the series earlier this year and spoke with a couple of the guys vying for first place. I'm told that among the contenders, there is an average of $20,000 in body damage done to each car per race. Gentleman's Racing? They said, "don't believe it!"

I get asked to do it every year or two. I always say "no." There are WAY cheaper ways to go racing.

And $20K a weekend is only if you're running at the front of the pack (i.e. out of harm's way... kinda). It gets pretty ugly mid-field. A friend of mine ran two seasons ago and averaged 40K per weekend for the season. Ouch!
