    Smartycam connection was loose which caused the footage issue. I still don't know which protocol to use for most data, please let me know if anyone has done it.

    It's the Civic Type R protocol mentioned in post 5 in this thread.

    Mine was mounted atop the roll bar off to the right. It bothered me too because it was off centre as well as too high. I've now mounted it to the wider hoop around the airbox. Much better.

    Here's what I'm using (you can see the old mount as well):

    1) RAM Rail Base with Zinc Coated U-Bolt, ATV/UTV Strap & 1"" Ball for Rails to 3.15"" in Diameter
    2) Ram Mount Short Double Socket Arm for 1-Inch Ball Bases
