Hello all,
After about a year of on-and-off searching and researching, I finally bought a 2006 Atom in late May of 2017 with less than 4,500 miles on it from the original owner through a collector car consignment dealership near Seattle. The car currently lives with me near Tacoma. The pics are from the sale listing. I've since removed the roll-over bar.
I was very lucky to have managed to purchase this car, as I didn't discover it was for sale until after it had already been on the market for 2 weeks, and then everybody descended on it at once (of course). The best part is that the car is configured with everything I wanted - the color, the seats, the parking brake, the brake bias adjuster, the quick release steering wheel, no battery kill switch, no expensive carbon fiber... it's like I placed the order myself in 2006! I probably wouldn't mind some adding some wings or lower profile tires though. The previous owner even installed Pitking mirrors, Dennis Palatov bellcranks and a Sector 111 exhaust system.
I've addressed a few design flaws with the original Brammo build. I re-attached all 4 loose fenders using a proper toughened epoxy, fabricated and installed a revised engine oil dipstick tube so it won't break again and replaced all of the standard (too short) 5/8" rod end bearings in the suspension with long-shank versions to fix the adjustment thimble breakage issue, adding safety washers and longer 12-pt. mil-spec bolts on the rod end bearings which required them. I hope to post info. on some of these fixes soon, as time permits.
