Welcome to the forum, Thomas, and I enjoyed our conversation yesterday.

I know we covered a lot of ground concerning some of the many issues that the Brammo-built Atoms were delivered with. My first Atom, which I still have, is # 72 (last two numbers of the serial #) so all the issues I had to fix on mine are very likely to need addressing on your #81.

To help you remember, here is a partial list of some of the things we talked about.
    1. Soft rear axle washers as delivered from Brammo.
    2. Intercooler water pump wired backwards. Will not circulate coolant turning backwards.
    3. Intercooler radiator fan wired backwards, blowing the wrong way.
    4. Fuel tank gaskets that come apart and stop up the fuel pump filter. This is a pretty major deal that requires drilling out all the rivets holding the rear firewalll in place, so it can be removed to gain access to the gaskets.

I had the machinist that built the connecting rods for my top fuel car machine some good rear axle washers out of stainless steel and heat treat them, and these solve the problem of the soft original washers. I'm pretty sure I have some of those left, if you need them. Remember 180 foot pounds for the rear axle nuts, and if yours are still tight you are OK for now, but check them often and if they loosen, look for deformation on the washers.

You have my number, call if you have more issues/questions.

    Regards,

    Eddie
