    Option for wheel bolt pattern

I am disappointed in the wheel options for the Atom. Has anyone considered re-drilling the hubs and rotors to a more standard 4 on 100mm opening up the wheel options? or even converting them to 5 lugs. OR what other wheel options are available ( I've only found a few)

The Keizer wheels I have for sale look great, very very light weight but streetable rubber is just not avalable in the correct size for these 15" wheels

Any input, negative or positive will be appreciated

I have done this on a V-8 Vega I had in the early 80's converting the fronts from a 4 lug pattern to a 5 lug pattern to match the rear bolt pattern that I installed, of that car did not experience the side loads induced from cornering as it was a straight line car, I had the car for several years on the street & no problems, later on the aftermarket provided 5 lug rotors that simplified the conversion to 5 lugs.

Atom2 uses the 4x100 bolt pattern. I wonder if the hub from a 2 would fit a 3? Then you could use the rotors off a 2 as well. May be a question for TMI.

The power of an Atom is a terrible thing to waste! Atom owner/operator since 2007. The more you chase perfection, the faster it becomes. John Force for President! (I asked him once in person...he laughed)

I spoke with Mark from TMI briefly regarding this same question. He said if there's a will there's a way. I would love to upgrade the hubs to fit the new 3s rims for mine.

I would buy 4x100 hubs from TMI the moment they are available, maybe we should get a group buy together to show TMI the business case for this.

I want to go from the odd pattern of the A3 (4 on 95.25mm) that has very limited wheel options to a more standard 4 on 100mm that your Atom 2 is equipped with.

It is possible to remove all four hubs, bump the studs out, carefully lay out the other bolt pattern halfway in between the originals, with the hubs centered in a lathe, and drill for a light interference fit with the studs, so you can change the studs back and forth between AtomII and Atom 3 bolt pattern wheels. I did that for one of the pre-owned Atoms that I sold, and it is a pretty nice modification, in my opinion. I don't offer that service/modification for Atoms I don't own, but a competent machinist should not find that too challenging.

Very nice to know!, thank you Fourfather! Do you think the lack of material from the old holes would create a safety issue? Also do have any of the split spoke rims that are on the new atoms?

    You are welcome.

If you look at the hubs, I would not worry about four extra holes that size being unsafe. But you are talking safety to a guy that drove top fuel cars and boats for years, so be advised accordingly--

I don't have any of those split spoke wheels in stock.
