Brake lights not working and passenger front parking light not working

2.5 weeks into my 2014 Atom 3 ownership and it is time to fix something.

My brake lights stopped working yesterday and tonight I realized that the passenger front parking light is not working.

The driver rear brake light does turn on if I have the lights on but nothing for the passenger rear. Yes even when I press the brake peddle

Here are some pictures. The passenger front parking light looks like it got burnt. Also the bulb I found on the passenger is a bigger bulb. The passenger bulb does work in the drivers side.

Also, the passenger rear bulb does work on the drivers side. But nothing lights up on the right rear in the brake socket. Neither the driving light or braking light in that passenger rear socket.

Ideas?

I figured it out. The brake light switch is bad. I tested it by unplugging it and completing the circuit with a spare 10amp fuse. Presto brake lights.

i think the passenger front light was just a red herring.

ill have to order a new banjo bolt. I wish there was a better part to get. I have read on other posts here to install a motorcycle switch like @madmaxatom did https://www.arielatomchat.com/forums/thread1773.html but I'm not ready for that yet.

These lights were originally from a Land Rover. While they are now manufactured by the aftermarket, the manufacturers are keeping up the time-honored tradition of British automotive electrical gremlins.

There are a couple different brands of these. The most common is Wipac. I used to sell both lenses and complete fixtures, but I sold out some years ago.

Be sure you get a new set of crush washers or you'll be leaking brake fluid. And be sure to have something in place to catch the fluid while you're changing it - brake fluid will attack paint and the fiberglass of the tub.
