There are those "reversed" spring rates again. They really have me puzzled! Obviously they are working for them..so... hmm. If I ran those rates on Max...my car would push like no tomorrow, especially on SRA spec R7 tires. Hmm..very puzzling. I was going to go to 400lb springs up front..(currently 350s) but also changing up to 600lb springs in the rear.(currently 500s)

    Nice car..

The cars do push with these spring rates, especially with any throttle application. What people are doing is rotating the cars with a combination of trail braking and very early throttle application. The advantage imho is twofold. One, after a lap or two, we get more heat in the front tires, so more overall grip. Two, the cars are more forgiving, so it is much easier to catch a spin. I think with larger rear tires (or smaller fronts) the heavier front springs would not be beneficial. They are doing similar things with tracked/raced MR2s.

Thanks John for the explanation. I guess I would have to drive one to see if it would suit me. The only time I run heavier springs up front is on a front wheel drive car.

"What does it take to make this street legal?" An act of congress!

The SRA is the furthest from a public street ready Atom as you will find..with no headlights,no directionals,no parking brake,no horn,no fenders, competition exhaust (loud), and whatever else your state may require for registration and inspection. The SRA is a stripped down stripper. It is a race car for the track.

Anything is possible to make into a "street legal" car,but you would be better off starting with a car closer to your goals, especially if pricing is similar.
I suppose if you found an SRA at a fire sale price, and your state was not totally against Atom registration, it would be the least expensive way to get an Atom road legal. It really does matter what your local regulations require for a car to be "street legal".It can even vary from county to county in some states.
