Hrm, sticking power to the ground has merit.

Upgraded rear uprights, larger wheels, stickier tires, stiffer springs.

I prefer the Turbo Route for the potentially more quiet exhaust sound out put, the improved gas mileage on road trips, and the more friendly upgrade path. (Darth Chicken is swapping his Turbo and re-tuning for a serious boost in power)

However, I'm also a big fan of the Rotrex Supercharger. If it were ever possible on an Ecotec car, that would be my choice.

I would suggest turbo-charging your Atom.

    what do you think then?

You got suspension upgrades you could do - easily spend $5k there with new shocks, springs, a-arm upgrades, etc.

You got power upgrades - either turbo or harrop are the only real options - it could be hard to stay under $5k

you could do bigger wheels and fenders. that would probably cost around $1K

You could add wings. that's over 5k from the factory

you could do a new exhaust - not much in the way of power but is always a good upgrade on an atom.

The Rotrex path is interesting, but, it is basically a supercharger designed like a turbo. Does Rotrex have something akin to the twin scroll?

That is one benefit of the turbo folks don't think about too much - I ran at Laguna Seca, with its 92Db sound limit, a over 300hp to the wheels and didn't do a thing to make sound. No lifting around turn 5, no supertraps, nothing. Just drove it there, drove it around the track, and drove it home.

With the new turbo, the BOV is inside the turbo, so it won't even have that noise anymore (recirculating vs. atmospheric). I've owned loud cars before - its a huge commitment to press the go pedal, because everybody within a mile knows your doing it.

I dont know about moving that BOV inside... I'd miss it I think

Rotrex would be too much of an investment. There is no where to stick it unless it is on the top of the engine cover

As stiff as MadMax's, but I just changed to the DP bellcranks... we'll see how that affects things.

You don't need twin scroll if you're running off of the accessory belt.
