Something wonderful has happened..

Whiskey Hill Raceway!!! 2.3 miles,15 turns..50 feet wide..with 200+ feet of elevation change. It's an alpine mountain race track! Carved out of granite and surrounded by woodlands..20 minutes from my house, it is in Palmer, Ma. (Palmer Motorsports Park) I drove it last fall by special invitation before any barriers,curbs etc were in place..it is driving nirvana! First official track event scheduled for May 8th,2015. I can hardly wait..

This track will separate drivers fast..and best part is there are plenty of safe passing areas all the way around. I personally like it running clockwise,but they intend to run it CCW for now. Either way..it is a track that can be enjoyed at most any speed. A great layout,and once the runoff areas grass up..and some curbing installed..it will only get better. It's pretty exciting to be in at the ground level of a track like this. Makes me almost want to stay in Ma...no..winters are too much...but I can always come visit for the summer. Watkins Glen, Limerock, Mt.Tremblant,Mosport..lots of superb asphalt in NE and now Whiskey Hill. I'll try to take video and post it..Max is drooling..

Grand opening tomorrow May 8th,2015.…weather is going to be an Atom friendly 80 degree sunny day!!!! Max is all fired up…me too.

I'll try…I am not very gadget minded..usually forgetting batteries or even to turn it on. I did get an iPhone 3 weeks ago and there is an app called harrys lap timer which looks promising..my Gopro doesn't seem to work any longer...

Got the ole Gopro working..and found the download cable..now, as long as that suction cup thingy holds it to my dash and I remember to turn it on…

Whiskey Hill raceway is INCREDIBLE! This track will def become a destination for those who want a challenge. I did get a video,but it is quite shaky and lousy audio.It is in queue on youtube but hopefully will finish downloading soon..I hope.
The track had a lot of very fine dust on it all day,so it was hard to get the tires to stay sticky.Like running with talcum powder all over them. Later on in the day,the wind picked up and it was like driving through a dust storm. I only got one session on video as my lousy suction cup setup didn't hold well.

I had quite a slide entering turn one in the last session..but it was my fastest session.
Very very very exciting track..and will only get better with curbing,grassed in runoff areas,paved paddock,permanent buildings etc etc.
The cost to build this track is now over $28m…worth every penny. I am contemplating membership,but will work for track time..
