Ariel Atom Kit. Is it real?

Hi all, Is there anyone that can tell me more about the Ariel Atom kit car. I saw a tweet on twitter @hadronxr. They claim to have all the aftermarket parts to assemble a full rolling chassis. Show pics of windshield, carbon fiber front and rear wings. Claim to be a 1/4 of OEM pricing. Is it real? Say they will be launching on kickstarter.com April 22. The pics look pretty real. Anyone know more?

You can tell by this pic that these are the parts from the failed Ariel China branch. They made those uprights. these were made years ago

As soon as Ariel or TMI can find it on Kickstarter I expect this will die a quick death under threat of legal action.

I found a guy who goes by the name "HotRodomine" He claimed that he has talked to the company that is making this kit. Hadron XR. I can't find any website. He said they are not posting any formal info until their launch. Suppose to be April 22 according to there twitter page. He did say he learned that they will be offering a new designed upright individually milled out of T6061 aluminum and using a larger bearing. Same bearings as the Porsche 911. WOW. He also said the company claimed they will be using a 5x114.3 wheel lug pattern. He also said that they claimed Ariel's own Simon bought those exact uprights in the picture above from the China factory along with other parts for a time. Who knows they could be on your car. Sounds like Ariel and TMI are going to have competition. After all. If this company is real, how can Ariel or TMI have any recourse. Every car company in the world has aftermarket parts made for their cars. I would love to see it myself. If the quality is right. I have been dying to get front/rear wings and a windshield. if the price is really going to be 1/4 of OEM. Thats a no brainer.

You sound suspicious. So you own an Atom, and are "dying" to get wings and a windshield? And just now started to post on this forum.

Look buddy.......I'm just saying fiberglass is fiberglass. Call it what ever you like. If its the same thing, why the hell pay 4 times more for it. I'm sure the world will know the difference as you fly down the road.

Only because the hadronxr company has recently been posting info on twitter. You go ahead and do what ever you want with your car. I'm just trying to make other owners aware that there could be options or so it seems. Do what ever you want with your car. I'm sure its going to have more value when it comes time to sell because you paid 4 times as much for the same dam thing.

Selling and advertising for sale counterfeit contraband components is illegal and immoral.

Unless Ariel Motor Company or an authorised dealer is selling these componenets, they are contraband.

Saving money is not the issue..it is a moral question.

I know some scum bags don't understand morality,and have no scruples, but that ignorance does NOT make it OK to sell bootleg copies of another companies trademarked components.

Being directly involved in the auto industry for my entire life has taught me first hand that most chinese built components are usually of sub standard quality,lack any formal quality control standards,and fail in use at an unacceptable rate.They may appear to be the same,but the material and/or machining quality is usually poor and they break. Nothing I want on my car at any price. I also feel as an Ariel Atom enthusiast and owner that the integrity and reputation of the Atom is also my responsibility to defend, by saying NO to counterfeit contraband parts and the carpetbaggers who peddle them. I support people who play by the rules.

Thank you Ariel Motor Company, to care enough about your product line to not allow counterfeit components be sold (whenever it is brought to their attention) It is good for the reputation of those products to be aggressively defended from the infiltration of pirated copy components.

The bitterness of poor quality lingers long after the cheap price is forgotten.

Substandard unauthorised components being sold illegally..what a pathetic business plan...
