Hi there! I have a beautiful, loaded 2012 Ariel Atom 3 for sale, available in Houston, Texas area. The vehicle is in top condition, it has only done under 573 miles. Unfortunately I don't get to spend much time on the track nowadays and these kind of cars should not be parked in the garage, they should be driven!!!

Street legal and registered in TX?

Notregistered in TX and currently not road legal - however just like for any Atom,you can get the additional bits. The Atom has rear break light and a road legalmuffler. It was purchased from Eddie Hill in Wichita, TX (FourFather on this forum) who has registered a few of his Atoms in TX.

The problem is if it's not currently or previously registered it's pretty hard to get registered for road use now even if you add the street legal bits.

I think the phrase "pretty hard" is subjective. As many have stated before, each person who registers an Atom has had a different experience. It is purely conjecture to assume that you will have an easy or difficult time registering the vehicle. You can buy the vehicle and attempt to register it. If you are unsuccessful, then you can just track it, or resell it. If you don't like those options, then I would suggest you look at a different vehicle.

Im sorry but that's the dumbest attitude I've ever heard about a car or any investment. Spend 70k and hope you can drive it on the street if not sit on it months and pray you get your money back.

People don't get the Atom is not the end all be all of track cars and the main if not only advantage over other track cars with more performance at a lower cost is that you can drive it to the track and skip buying a truck and trailer.

Lots of faster cheaper options for track only cars. (Stohr, West, Radical, used 997 cup etc)

Supply, demand, and extraordinary circumstances dictate pricing on individual transactions. No one here is telling you to buy an Atom. You either want one (with the pros and cons that come with it) or you don't (i.e. the cons out weigh the pros for you). Ultimately I could care less if you buy an Atom or find something else that's a better fit. Most people on the forum are cordial and willing to educate potential buyers on different subjects. I considered the options, talked to people on the forum, and made my decision. I was not guaranteed registration from someone at a DMV office prior to purchasing and don't have a magical answer for you. However, I knew that if I bought an Atom and I needed to turn around and sell it, it would be fairly easy to do so.
