I have had an interest in Atoms for a long time, even have a deposit on one.

Just learning about the registration issues...

sorry to inform you that it is impossible to reg one legally with the state (I've been actively trying for a year now and thought I figured out how to get it past recon but its not a recon issue, its a DOT issue here). I can give you the numbers to Hawaii DOT and DVM to attempt to get regged but your gonna run in to the same problems I had and they will tell you they will not let you legally reg one no matter what you attempt to do (others have tried). I can give you the names of some people which have actually brought in an atom and had to ship it out of state for sale when they failed to reg it here sadly. There are rumors that there is one guy which some how got one regged but DOT has told me they have never and will never allow one for use on Hawaii roads legally. For me, when I buy mines I'm just gonna run it illegally on the street and pay the fines if/when I get caught with it (the trick is to have enough money to just afford the fines and just accept them when they come).

BTW: have you even looked in to trying to get one insured in Hawaii? No regular insurance company will insure it and all the classic/specality insurance companies don't recognize Hawaii as a state in the USA. E-Mail/pm me and I'll let you know how to get one insured if you need it, it will run you about 2-3k for 6 months of insurance. It is doable but at a very high price.

here is a post about the atom which was in Hawaii and is who knows where right now. With the amount of cops here, you are gonna get pulled over pretty quick unless you live out in Laie or Kunia (and have a shit load of land to play on).

BTW: It's actually cheaper and much easier to buy a Used newer vette as well as a crazy engine like a 1500-2000hp from someone like nelson racing and pay someone to mate them together rather then to get an atom legal here. if you ever do some how get one, let me know how to do it cuz I have failed to figure it out myself.
