Feeler on Selling: 2013 Supercharged Atom 3(.5?)

    Hey, all.

I am considering selling my 2013 Atom.

I took delivery just a year ago and I'm realizing as a new parent (we have a 7 month old at home now), I'm not getting much time behind the wheel of the car.

I'm in no rush to sell it, but I'm throwing it out there to see if there's any interest in the car. I bought it brand new in January of 2013 and took delivery in May 2013. I worked with the awesome Eddie Hill on the entire build... so he can vouch for me

This car is legally registered with the State of Iowa. Equipped to be licensed in any other state, assuming they follow the same DOT requirements as the State of Iowa.

The car has 1,200 miles on it. It's seen 2 track days and both were pretty light as I was still getting my arms around the power of the car. It's a 2 hour drive to the track I go to, so the majority of the miles are oddly highway to the track and back.

I ordered the car with Yokohama S. Drive tires and quickly realized I needed something stickier for the track. I still have the S. Drive tires and threw a set of BFGoodrich G-Force Rivals, which were much stickier.

Most interestingly, this car has the Dash2 digital dashboard that is in a carbon fiber enclosure (which was equipped by TMI this way). I haven't seen any other cars listed with these.

    Here are the add-ons:
    - Supercharger
    - Parking Brake kit
    - Adjustable Dampers
    - Two-Piece Spring Kit
    - Quick Release Steering Wheel
    - Windshield w/ wiper
    - 17" rear wheels
    - Side panels
    - Headlights
    - Master battery switch
    - High intensity rain light
    - Roll Bar/Cage
    - Locking fuel door
    - 12V power source under the dash
    - Full street-lighting kit (signals, etc)

I paid $73,242 for the car 1 year ago.

I'm looking to get as close to that number as I can. Again, not a rush in selling. Just trying to get a feel on any interested parties.

If you're interested, feel free to post any questions you have below... or, you can PM me or email me at monitoringtot (at) gmail.com if you're interested in discussing any offers.

Below are some pictures... I ran into a professional photographer at the track the first time I took it out there... he was extremely excited to take the photos and I was extremely excited with how well the turned out! (Feel free to "borrow" them! Haha...)

Keep the car... A booster works great in the front seat. My 3 year old loves the Atom!

    Haha! Love it!

The trouble is just finding the time to get to the track, where the car belongs.

The car is definitely an attention grabber... I'll miss it if the right buyer finds it.

Emails and PM's have been replied to. Surprised by the amount of interest.

Does anyone have any experience in what it costs to ship a car both inside the states and/or to Hawaii? I've had those two questions come up and I'm not sure of the answer.

    Thanks in advance!

vehicle shipping in the states is around $800-$1000 depending on distance and insurance. Don't know about Hawaii, I would think its significantly more due to the air fare.

Thanks! That's what I was thinking for in the states.

cars are shipped to hawaii on boat. I'd imagine you would have to charter an entire plane to get it there by air.

I dont know costs off the top of my head but you do have to be careful on the company you use. Some will not put the car in a container so you are looking at 3 weeks of elements including sea water mist and sprays getting on the car.

Plus you need to ship the car from a port.

If you are going to sell to someone in Hawaii, I'd say let them make all the shipping arrangements including picking it up from your front door.

That's exactly what I thought... and, is also how I handled the conversation (leaving it up to the buyer to arrange for shipping).

Another related question... what's the common practice on paying for the car? Paying in full before the car is shipped to where it's going?

yes, payment in full then car can get loaded up on the hauler to leave for it's destination, you mail the buyer the title.

Thanks for this! I prefer this method, I just wanted to confirm it's common practice!
