Look at the * at the bottom of one of the sketches....

It says it is a "conversion package for the Atom"

I sent an email to the guy and told him that the D2 would be a much better platform than an Atom for such a project. He's going to talk with DP.

My understanding is that one of earlier Jaydee developments started with an Ariel Atom 2 demonstrator that was crashed at Pukekohe, New Zealand. The then agent, Open Wheeler Imports, sold him the car in an effort to recoup some of their loss. The car however was lengthen during the rebuild.

You can see an Atom parked next to the Quantum in some of the photos.

Perhaps he found a use for the Chinese atom-but-not-an-"Atom" frames.

with a full body it will probably out-accelerate the atom at speeds above 80mph

hmmm it does have real bumpers so I could actually register it in my state as a legal on road car... something I have yet to see anyone do for a regular atom. Perhaps it might be worth the extra 60k if you can actually drive it on the road instead of it being a garage paper weight (there is no track in my state so you couldn't even drive a regular stock atom as a track car ).

The not an Atom, Atoms are selling quite well on their own.

I paid $800 for a single fender mold at a very reasonably priced place. So a while body kit would take a whole lot of money to invest especially when they are trying to fit it over an existing frame complete not set up for a body kit. That's why I think he should go with a D2 instead of an Atom
