Hello everyone. I've driven the Atom at VIR and nothing I've ever driven comes even close to that visceral experience. I'm planning on ordering an Atom and registering it in NC. I'm here to learn and share in the Ariel Atom experience.

Welcome to the forum. This is a great place to learn and share knowledge and experiences with a wonderful group of enthusiasts.
I have two of the new Factory-Turbo-Atoms being built, and one of them is still availabe for purchase and with the ability to select the options as you see fit.
Serious fun! Here is my demonstrator/company car on track. Mine is the only streetable car running with single-seat race cars.

Nice video, looks like a fun track! I'm working on figuring out insurance and registration logistics for North Carolina. Have you ever sold to someone in NC?
Thanks, Hallett is huge fun and the site of both AtomFests, which were epic!
Maybe someone from your area will see this and chime in here- I personally don't have any info or sales in that area. The Atoms ARE worth the homework and trouble to find out what your "public servants" want you to do, to grant you the liberty to choose the vehicle YOU want, and pursue your happiness.

Hey wait a minute, isn't that "pursuit of happiness" thing written right into the Declaration of Independence?? I think some states tend to forget that part of it.
I'm reminded of a quick story. I live in the western part of New Jersey, about 10 miles from PA. After months of waiting for a NJ gun license which finally came, I recently went to a gun dealer to purchase a handgun at a shop just across the Delaware in Easton, Pennsylvania. While perusing their selection, I noticed a large rack of military style rifles (AR-15, M4-types) with a large sign above it that said, "PENNSYLVANIA RESIDENTS ONLY". So I asked the nice gentlemen behind the counter (who looks like he has toured with ZZ Top), "I'm from NJ, how could I go about getting one of these?"
His reply, totally deadpan, was "Why don't you try moving to America".
Despite being on one of the coasts, I'd like to think that North Carolina is still part of America, but I don't know, and times are changing. I do know that New Jersey seceded a long time ago. PS - my Atom isn't registered in NJ, it's in one of the free states.

Personally witnessed at a large chain sporting goods store in West Virginia, within the last 15 years:
Customer puts purchase ticket (obtained in gun showroom) on counter at checkout
Clerk phones gun showroom to have gun brought out for sale, rings up sale on register
Customer hands over large pile of cash
Clerk asks customer "What is your zip code?"
Customer says "I'd rather not say"
Clerk says "It's only because if you're local, you're eligible for reduced sales tax"
Customer says "Don't care", collects receipt and gun, leaves

That reminds me I need to add some picatinny rails to my Atom. It needs some more tacticool. somebody already noticed the holster next to the driver's seat.
