    Took delivery

Just took delivery of Terry's Atom #85. Havent done much driving since it doesnt have a plate just yet so it was just a basic just around the block kind of stuff. Man all I can say is that Terry is an amazing seller, transaction couldn't have been smoother and provided me with almost more parts than I could take with me. There is one thing I need to do to the car prior to getting it on the track on Friday and will be running to Napa this morning to take care of it.

    Thanks again Terry!!

Congratulations! It's hard for me to believe that Terry sold his Atom, but you should know that you could not of bought from a better seller.

Congratulations James. Let's get together for a spin when you get your plates sorted.

    Thanks!

And he isn't kidding about the parts - we were unloading my spares from the basement and he and his friend (who brought a second truck) kept having to re-arrange the loading in the truck to accommodate the additional stuff.

Gage, I did mention the time I was ferrying your tires from the pits at Laguna Seca up to the camping area in my Atom...

Now I just need to remove all the stains from the brake fluid I created today during my bleeding exercise. Took her for a spin around the neighborhood to make sure the brakes still work and talk about attention (all the positive kind so far). I thought I was used to it with the viper but I feel kind of exposed in the Atom.

You need a catch bucket or food container to put on the floor before pulling the switch. [You're probably saying to yourself "Oh, now he tells me that..."].

You want to get all of that out of there as it is very slippery. Mop up what you can with shop towels, then squirt some Dawn dishwashing liquid in there and run some water on it. Lather & scrub, wait for the water to run out the drain hole, and repeat (without the Dawn) until you stop getting suds. Wait for it to dry and you're good to go.

And, of course, brake fluid eats paint, so clean up any of that right away.

Put a tight fitting (3/16") tube/hose on the bleeder, run it into a container, and there is no cleanup.
The power of an Atom is a terrible thing to waste! Atom owner/operator since 2007. The more you chase perfection, the faster it becomes. John Force for President! (I asked him once in person...he laughed)

Oh trust me I know what I'm supposed to do, its just that my hands and brain rarely work together enough to accomplish my desire on the first try. I used a mityvac for the first caliper and failed so bad that I had to enlist the help of my wife to man the brake pedal instead.

This looks like a train wreck in slow motion, you want to help but know it's too late.. or a bad porn movie.. (not that I've partaken of such things.. )
