Another new UK member

Hi all,

Another UK member here. I've just found this site from a thread over on atomclub. Allow me to introduce myself.

I've been running mostly bike engined cars using a hand clutch since i lost the bottom half of my right leg in a motorcycle accident in '99. My most recent was a Rage Buggy with a ZX14R engine in that i used for fast road and trackdays.

I've recently found the 'duck clutch' system from ELAP mobility here in the UK which will enable me to drive a manual car for the first time in 12 years. So i thought i'd jump in head first with a 300bhp Ariel Atom.. Why not, i've always wanted one

The conversion includes removing the clutch pedal then moving the remaining pedals to the left so i can use my left foot for the accelerator and brake. The 'duck clutch' is a push button system that activates the clutch via a slave cylinder. Should be fun.

Looking forward to exploring this site as i understand there is a lot more modifying on here.

I should be collecting my Atom next week so i will post some pics of the conversion when i get it.

This story reminds me of one of the guys from the shop in Tulsa, that didn't have legs past he knees. And then he drove the silver UK atom on track at Reno Fernely.. VERY impressive.
