    Hello From Florida

I saw the Tech toys 360 show and thought I would do a little investigating of what appears to be a fun car. I see a lot of you are bikers or used to be. I'm an avid biker with 5 right now and have been riding for the last 50 yrs. Am still a speed freak with a new Kawasaki ZX14R that has seen 205mph GPS verified so speed is in my blood. In the little bit of looking at the forum I haven't seen what the top speed of these are. If I were to buy an Atom I would maybe want to go out on Sun with my biker buddies where we regularly run in the 150-175mph range. Are any of these cars capable of that kind of speed and I don't mean the V8 car?RJK_1746-2.jpg

no, unfortunately 150-175 is out of the range even for a mildly modified atom.

I think with about 450whp you might be able to get into the 160mph range, but not necessarily sustainable, nor would I want to go that fast in the car personally.

If you're into modifying things you can do an overhaul on an ecotec or honda platform and get either one up to 400whp or more by converting to turbo and doing everything else possible to the car.

the aero on this car isn't meant for high mph runs

Thanks for the response Silver, I thought it might be a problem doing those type of speeds in the Ariel. I also have a home near the Georgia mountains where it would be a lot of fun. We regularly run up to the "Dragon" and the Cherahala pkwy so that could be another option to leave it up there.
