Thanks for the complement! I need to finish the panels, which I will be doing soon. Then we can have all kinds of digital fun. I have actually been thinking of printing a working Eco engine, with working crank and pistons that has to be assembled like an actual engine as a part of the up coming 1/24th scale kit. These guys make some badass stuff to make it work Scale Hardware, the world's finest scale model fasteners 1/24th may be pushing the size limit a little too much, I may have to upscale.

    There's no DRS on this.

I've been toying about with the DRS idea. F1 cars now use hydraulic actuators but they used electric ones initially but there were a lot of reliability issues. I've looked in to both the options and ultimately I should be able to do it, but the issue with the atom wing is that its supported near the center rather than the edges. This means that when the DRS is activated the movement of the wing could potentially destabilize the edges and make the wing rock. As a one off it wouldn't be an issue but over time it potentially could be. As there's usually a single lever that pulls the wing, a lot of force is needed to do it, especially when you consider the resistance that will come from drag.

Without actually making one it's hard to figure it out but it will need a lot of investment in both time and money to make all the molds etc. If I get a good response from the stuff I'm doing already then I'll look in to the possibility of doing it but unfortunately at the moment without an actual gauge of response for the products its a bit of a too big investment for me at the moment. Still have a fairly long list of things to do: front wing, individual seats, headlights ...

The atom would benefit way more from actual body work than something like a DRS. Wings themselves are barely worth it let along some fancy contraption on them.

100% true. More surface area is needed on the car itself to catch and route the clean air from the from the front rather than trying to use dirty air at the back. I do have some ideas but its hard to do without changing the look and ultimately characteristics of teh car too much.

I'm sorry, I was TOTALLY being sarcastic. I should have thrown in a sarcasm tag or something.

My second language is sarcasm. Some days, it's close to being my mother tongue.
