I am still amazed,in this, the age of "information", how often people will bring their cars to me with a broken coil spring; the car noticeably leaning to one side, and tell me the "shocks" are gone.
The power of an Atom is a terrible thing to waste! Atom owner/operator since 2007. The more you chase perfection, the faster it becomes. John Force for President! (I asked him once in person...he laughed)

Did you try driving it yet? Just curious if you could notice a difference?

    Ok. "Tomorrow" became Tuesday....

Finally took her out for an hour drive today.

I had adjusted the rebound to its softest setting, and there was a noticeable improvement. Much better then before.

Now I'm really interested in softening the compression. If just adjusting the rebound made that big a difference, I'll bet adjusting the compression (which is the actual setting to soften the ride) will make it perfect.

This will take me a while... Gonna try to do it on my own.

    i'll keep you all updated.

You should know that reducing the compression damping may allow, under certain conditions, for more travel to occur and therefore to lose ground clearance, especially on the front under hard braking over bumps. Removing rebound damping may also allow the car to lose steering precision coming off the brakes as the front will lift more quickly transitioning to throttle, causing the front to push.

Yup. That makes perfect sense. Thank you.

Adjusting the car for a softer ride will admittedly sacrifice handling performance. It's finding that perfect balance for me that's the challenge right now.

You arn't going to sacrifice much with street driving. If you are going around a turn fast enough to understeer, you probably aren't going the speed limit.

The big problem is if you go to a track, you have to take off the shocks and readjust before you go.

There is one other issue on the Brammo 2's - it is possible to over-rotate the bellcranks (past their "top dead center") which is very bad as it can (at a minimum) damage the bellcranks. Some owners have added mechanical stops, though I don't know how effective they are.
