    Hello from Oregon...

    My name is Josh. I've been a long time admirer of the Ariel Atom, and now I have an open garage space! I'm a cash buyer for an Ariel Atom 300. As an aside, I'm a bit concerned about registering the car in Oregon with the "Racing Activity Vehicle" limitations. I'm located in Bend, so I'm not within 90 miles of a racetrack. Any advice for Oregon registration would be most appreciated!

    welcome,

    The manufacturing certificate from the factory needs to say "race activity vehicle" on it. Im sure TMI will work that out with you. 1 and 3 are easy to qualify for. Since your official club activity is to drive your car and if you maintain your car at home you got 30 mild radius right there. Im happy to be your local Portland mechanic so you have 30 miles around me as well.

    1. Exhibitions, parades or club activities;
    2. Driving the vehicle from the person’s home to a race track that is within a 90-mile radius of
    a person’s home; or
    3. Test driving the vehicle for maintenance or repair purposes within a 30-mile radius of where
    the vehicle is maintained or repaired.

    Welcome to Madras Speedway Madras, Oregon

    right near Bend. plus it would be fun to dirt track an Atom

    Basically, the police will not be familiar with these rules and you will have the same plate as other collector cars. in 7 years I have not been hassled by the police.
