Last year,I had a student (on track) with an '03 Saab 9-3 Vector turbo which had an automatic transaxle that was shifted by paddles on the steering wheel.I thought it was going to be a sucky ride..but it turned out to be a nice shifting unit.It had been modified to shift quick and firm. The car made about 275whp,(it was modified)so it was up to the task of handling HP. I wonder, since the Ecotec block is basically a Saab 2.0l,if that style Saab automatic transaxle could be fitted? Yes..I know it's not a dual clutch, but it would be closer to the goal of paddles/clutchless,and potentially low budget with a minimal of fitment issues..I assume...who knows..maybe a Saab expert..is there such a thing.

The power of an Atom is a terrible thing to waste! Atom owner/operator since 2007. The more you chase perfection, the faster it becomes. John Force for President! (I asked him once in person...he laughed)

I would do that conversion....as long as the tuner can control the shifting, you'd be pretty damn happy

Brammo tried. They had a potential sale to a customer who was an amputee. Nothing except the stock 5-speed would fit (this leaves out exotica from Quaife, etc.).

"Nothing except the stock 5-speed would fit" I'm sure that is true....IF you don't want to do any modifications to the frame, wiring, etc etc. You can make anything fit if you want to bad enough. I guess brammo didn't want to bad enough.
