Bimmer Fan looking for a Track Toy

Hey guys, you can call me "T" and I just registered here as I'm looking to pick-up a fun weekend & track toy. I live in Redondo Beach, CA (outside of LA) and currently have a modified BMW 335i that's using its twin turbos to produce around 430 rwhp and 490 ft-lbs of torque. I love this car as my daily driver and it's practical with 4 doors, but after driving a friend's Lotus Exige S through the Malibu canyons and experiencing the joy of driving something with such a high power to weight ratio, I realized it's time to supplement my Bimmer with something more focused for the track.

Looking forward to learning from you all about the impressive Atom.

Here's a few pictures of my car since I started modding it 3 yrs ago scrolling down to its current setup...

    Welcome.
I also have a 335TT HT convertible, excellent car. (all the know problems with the fuel pump and waste gate aside, lol)
I ordered my Atom in Oct '12 and got it in Jan, had a few warm days to blast around town. Absolutely mind boggling what this thing can do. Still learning the limits and quirks. Looking for the next warm day.

After tracking my Atom, getting back into my Z06 Vette or anything bigger was like piloting an aircraft carrier. You might give Positron a call - He's in SD, not that far from Redondo - nice day trip in the Beemer. http://arielatomchat.com/forums/thread1161.html

Welcome! If you were impressed with the Lotus, wait until you do that same trip in an Atom!

Randy, I have been thinking about buying a C6 Z06 (trying to find one with 550-600Hp) to use as a fun freeway car. How do you like it?

There is a Corvette ZO6 with over 690HP and 768 ft.lbs of torque to the rear wheels, according to the printed spec sheet I have, that is for sale here in Wichita Falls, Texas, at Lone Star Muscle Cars, about a mile or so from my Atom dealership. Ernie McConnell is the contact there, 940 691-1070 or 940 733-4599, if you care to inquire about it. I stopped in there yesterday and he gave me some spec sheets that I offered to post at Hallett and at Eagles Canyon.

Thanks Eddie, I'll give him a call. I am looking for a NA one, it seems like with those numbers it may be supercharged, but we will see. Thanks for the lead!

Thanks for the welcome. You're right, quite a few problems, but still great cars.

Funny you mention 73 - I've been eyeing it up and thought the same thing. I love cruising down to SD on the weekends with the sunroof open. Gotta love SoCal.

My 505 hp Z06 was pretty good, my new purchase, a 2010 ZR1 is amazing. Power to weight near the Atom, electromagnetic dampers, unbelievable torque. Good in all weather too!
