Problem worsened on drive home. Anything but the most gentle application of throttle would cause the engine to bog down and almost stall. As soon as I come off throttle, it idles normally. Anyone have any thoughts? Fuel flow issue maybe? Has anyone heard of a Brammo Atom 2 having similar symptoms? (GM Ecotec supercharged)
have you already gone through the check process for the gasket on the fuel tank?

If it's not clogged fuel pump socks/fitler from that deteriorating gasket, then it's probably the lemon Cobalt fuel pump from 2006. Mine behaved in much the same manner. I took it for a spin up a mountain, full throttle started sputtering, then 75%, then 50%, etc. Always idled fine though. I replaced the fuel pump with a non-GM one and it has not been a problem since.

Brammo Atoms were built with the 2005 pump. You can tell the difference because on the 2005, the whole assembly (pump and sender) is one part. For 2006, GM changed thing so they were two separate part numbers.

Thanks guys, I have my mechanic looking at the car on Saturday. I'll make sure he takes a look at this thread.

    I stand corrected.

Either way. I replaced the pump and it was no longer an issue. Socks were not clogged, neither was the fuel filter.
