Exclamation Anybody know this Atom #78?

    Hello members,

I'm considering purchasing this Ariel from a dealership in CA. I spoke to Mark at TMI and all he had to said that the original owner had a motor malfunction and another K24 motor was put in. Mark said that he has no idea where the original owner sourced that motor.

Do any of you guys have any information that could help me? Is sourcing another K24 hard?

Check out the sticker on the engine... it's a K20Z3 not a K24Z7 like you'd get in a 2012 SRA. (This SRA is the 2011 model so it originally came with a K20 not a K24.)

super easy to spot it's not a k24z7, (they have a single exhaust manifold since the manifold is integrated into the block.

but there are lots of k series engines out there:

Honda K engine - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

if the owner blew his engine and swapped it, im almost positive he wouldn't pay 9500 for a crate motor... when you can grab one out of a wrecked honda/acura for maybe 2-3k in perfect working order...

like i said on the other forum, it's an SRA.. meaning track only... can never be street driven.. make sure you make note of that before buying.
