Technically I don't own one yet, but should be taking delivery in a few days. Welcome to the insanity.

    Hi Matt. Welcome.

Don't forget to add your car details to this thread -> http://arielatomchat.com/forums/thread1014.html ...so Steve can update the registry.

Thanks, I think I did get a good deal. Although the car may have caught a cold on its 500 mile trailer ride home in the rain. I'm definitely keeping the colors. I really like the look, and more importantly, so does my wife.

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone. Seems like a great community.

Thanks, were you ever able to get your car registered in FL? Mine ended up being a piece of cake.

yours was already registered in another state and i assume had a VIN assigned.. also it is an AA2 (could have had VIN assigned from factory).... all together a totally different beast and why the AA2 keeps a good value even tho it's older (less hassle)... so your vehicle was like buying a normal vehicle and going to DMV to transfer title.(simple).. a new vehicle (my hassle).. was to have the state sign off that the vehicle is capable of being street driven and passes all the CURRENT laws and requirements (which none of them do BTW.. at first they'll tell you the windshield law, but later you'll get letter from DOT after your visit listing a bunch more reasons).. which then requires some rule bending to get past all that (my headache)... there is nothing worse than spending 70-80k and then getting a notarized certified letter in the mail from the DOT saying it cannot be driven on public roads...

the battle (war) is getting a new vehicle registered because as you might know these vehicles are sold for track use and not sold for street use, do not come with titles.. and the factory is not equipped to sell them as a street vehicle..

as per the contract when you send your giant down payment to start production/start the wait:

"All North American Ariel Atom 3 vehicles built and sold by TMI, or sold by any of TMI’s authorized dealers, are sold exclusively as off-road/competition vehicles only. While legal road registration of Ariel Atom 3 vehicles may be possible within various North American jurisdictions, or elsewhere, any such road registration is strictly an individual buyer/owner responsibility. TMI and/or any of its authorized dealers assume no responsibility or liability whatsoever in connection with the legal use, or otherwise, of any TMI-built Ariel Atom 3, or TMI-supplied repair or replacement parts thereof, on any public roadway or other public property within North America or elsewhere."

apologies on the long winded reply...

again congrats on the vehicle.... enjoy it and be careful on the street!.. (check out an autobahn mirror) it has saved my ass many times... i have it on the lower passenger side. (i'll get some pics of my mods and post soon)
