As we discussed in the other thread, mac is using the same mold that we used last year for a run on wider fenders. They fit over a 275 wide tire just fine. 305 may be a bit tight.

here is a pic of the original grey plug the mold was based off and my original fender for size comparison

Yup. Huge glorps of glop, or something like this. The glop is actually clear silicone on mine - the black comes from road dirt.

Brammo once said "Field replacement of fender arms is not recommended" (I did it anyway). The first batch of RAM cars had an earlier style of fender arms on the front which hit the steering pushrods at the limits (and had collar stops under the gaiters to try to prevent this). So I ordered a front set of custom colored fenders from Brammo way-back-when, and had them do a set of rears as well (these are the ones that were clear-filmed).

Anyway, back to wide fenders - I carefully cut through the glop on the original rear fenders and sent them to Tom along with the wide fenders. He painted the wide fenders the same custom color, media blasted, re-powdercoated the arms, clear-filmed the arms and fenders and put everything together with his custom EZ-adjust fender bracket upgrade.

The trick with cutting the glop is to use a Dremel cut-off wheel to get most of the way through it. Don't go too far or you can damage the fiberglass. Now use a drywall or carpet knife to cut the glop right at the arm rods. You should end up being able to peel out V-shaped strips of glop the width of the fender. Repeat as needed. You will not be able to get to the stuff that's between the arm rods and the actual fender material. You'll have to carefully wiggle to try to get them free. Be very careful as it is easy to crack the holes where the arms go into the side of the fender.

You might try something like putting some acetone or other solvent in the V grooves you made (holding the fender upside down). The only thing is that it will probably attack the fender fiberglass, so be careful. It defininitely won't have any effect on the glop itself, but will work on the powdercoat on the arms.

would be awesome if the mold was some sort of jig that could adjust width (but also would be expensive.. i want to run 245/255 but 12" is WIDE..

i'll probably get them anyways cause they look badass.. and then a whole tube of windshield adhesive. LOL

Here are a few photos from fabricating new mounts, gluing with the window adhesive, and what they look like on 295 width Hoosiers.
