Atom #94 on the 100 Worst cars of all time, LOL

Has anyone seen this article written for the Inside Line Magazine --> 100 Worst Cars of All Time

Atom was number 94 on the list, it's funny how many negative comments this article received.

Here is the quote: "Its nickname is the "woman repellent." Perfect for the track, utter misery on any road. A helmet isn't just for safety; it's the driver's roof, windshield and HVAC system. Helmet also keeps anyone you know from seeing you drive it"

So who has heard of the nickname woman repellent??

So was a '76 AMC Pacer woody wagon one of the ten best? They were spacious, although I rarely see them not being used as planters in the back woods these days

Somebody should tell them there is a windshield option which eliminates half of their arguments.
I haven't heard of the nickname, but I would have to agree so far. My girlfriend won't even get in it, and it seems to attract more school boys more than anybody else. I don't give a shit, I rather not get the attention and just enjoy driving it. They couldn't be more far from the truth saying its no good on surface roads. I've had a LOT of cars, and this one is probably the most fun overall...

The Atom is a good woman analyzer ^(diggity).

If she says "is that a dune buggy" she automatically gets kicked out. if she says "wow, cool, what is that?" then there is promise. If she says "An Ariel Atom, very nice, I have one too" then it is mandatory marriage

Off the topic, but the buggy comment reminded me of the other day...

I went to Mobile the other day to get gas and this middle eastern man who worked there came out and said, "buddy, this is the first buggy I have seen that I like". I smiled and said "thanks". He then said "this doesnt look like a volkswagen motor". I said "its not, its a honda". He then replied "thats good, i dont like them with the volkswagen motors". I started cracking up when I drove away...

I also got a few thumbs up from some elementary school kids that day. Haha.

I'm sure there are a lot of people that would think unfavorably of an Atom. They'd also probably be people that think of cars as transportation, not having a clue of what an enthusiast is or likes. My wife loves our Atom. In the summer it's comfortable and out-in-the-open enjoyment. Do we really care what other people think?
