This 2013 Ariel Atom 3, serial #AA30160, has the Honda 230 HP naturally aspirated 2.4 liter engine with the Honda close-ratio six speed transaxle with limited slip differential, the aluminum radiator, Wilwood Dynalite sport brake package, tuned non-adjustable dampers, one-piece fiberglass bucket seats, two inch four point harness, the small aero screens, Team Dynamic Pro Race 1.2 12 spoke 15" wheel package with Yokohama S.drive tires, front 195/5015 and rear 205/55/15, chassis powdercoated in Silver, black fiberglass fenders, red bodywork, and lighting kit installed which includes headlights with high and low beam, turn signals, tail and brake lights, stop lights, hazard flashers, running lights, and horn.
This larger 2.4 liter engine replaces the 2.0 liter engine used previously, and the 2.4 has more horsepower and more torque than even the supercharged version of the 2.0, from idle all the way to 6,000 rpm. The 2.4 also has balance shafts that the 2.0 did not have, so the engine is is smoother with noticeably less vibration.
Thanks for looking--

Hi Eddie,
Out of interest, are the US cars ambidextrous or easily converted to RHD?
I'm often asked about the availability of new and second hand cars. Seems there is equally as good selection in the States as to what is available in the UK. Being LHD is the only draw back.

Hi,
I haven't been asked that question before, and I don't know without checking with TMI, which I will do, and get back to you.
On a barely-related note-- I was the proud owner of a genuine Lola T-70 coupe for about thirty-two years, and it was right-hand drive. For days after any outing with wife or daughter passengering, I would inevitably get comments about--"I saw you out in that Lola and your WIFE! was driving"

For the Brammo cars, ambidextrous chassis was an option. Steering column brackets welded on both sides of the chassis and two fabricated steel plates that need to be kept with the car. The Brammo steering rack is a central input so it could go either way. Mine is one that was ordered that way, but, very few were, FYI.

how is the car a 2013 when all MCO's created inside 2012 wil say 2012?
Most car manufacturers will call a car built on/after 9/2012, a model year 2013 vehicle. They have been doing it for years, and some have even used June as the "new" model year. (Many times I need to use the exact build date to get the proper parts for something..or the vin.)
The only view of an Atom I do not care for is from above..makes them look like a row boat.![]()
The power of an Atom is a terrible thing to waste! Atom owner/operator since 2007. The more you chase perfection, the faster it becomes. John Force for President! (I asked him once in person...he laughed)
yes i understand that, and most auto makers cheat it even more in their favor.
BUT Ariel Atom USA, i.e. T.M.I. autotech, only lists the year the car was completed in on their MCO, ergo any car finished before jan 1 is a "2012' this i know because i requested the car be MCO'd out a 2013.. tMI said "no problem" but the MCO says 2012, and when mentioned they replied it can only be a 2012 unless made in 2013.
hence this is a 2012 vehicle.
just a question since i went thru the same battle... since i got the car end of novem 2012, i would have really liked it to be a 2013.. but it's officially a 2012.. forever and always.
