anyone done oil change in their K24Z7 yet?
usually i go by the book on oil changes, the honda engine i'm sure doesn't ask for a change so soon but curious what others would advise... i have 1k on the dash right now... car is only a week old... wait till 3500 or so or take the original oil out asap to get rid of what shavings might be inside?

The first oil change in my Brammo GM Atom was at 2500 miles. That was mostly to establish a baseline for oil analysis, not from any real need. I've used Dyson Analysis for years. Can't hurt right? VR1 10w30 has a lot more zinc than other oils and is about $30 from Amazon Prime plus $12 for a good filter (I run Amsoil filters).

Dyson used to recommend those. A couple of years ago he stopped recommending those and suggested using Purolator PureONE filters. There was apparently some sort of problem or design change in the Amsoil ones. He also suggests changing oil and filter every 5000-6000 miles for the first few changes.
Did you ever change the oil? The manual says to change at 500-1000 using Castrol Magnatec 10w/40. I can't find it anywhere...trying to do an oil change today...help!
no change yet, ima go by my method... it is afterall a honda engine and trans.... no need to treat it like a formula one engine.
I'm somewhat ashamed to say that I've never ever performed an oil change before and I need to do one on my new(ish) SRA. I'm at ~650 track miles so I think it's time (I always assumed you change after the first 1000 miles in all cars, no?)
I've got all the tools, anyone want to help me at Spring Mountain on Saturday morning and maybe capture it on video? I was thinking it would be nice to start a video 'how-to' archive for everyone.
8 new cars in last 3 years.. and i've always changed as per manufacturers specs.. (some cars were 10k).. and had oil analyzed and nothing bad.. also no future problems..
the k24 change is impossibly easy, much easier than k20.. but i'll wait till 3500 and change... and i'll have it analyzed and im sure it will be fine. i think from honda they say closer to 8500/10k.

Changed the oil today, used Royal Purple. Wanted to change it before I went to the track...
Ill help you on Saturday. I think a video would be overkill. We just need a 17mm socket. Its super easy and literally takes 10-15 minutes..
