1000 miles in brand new atom (in less than a week)

300 miles over the week, and then 700 yesterday... couple notes:

-- seats are amazingly comfortable (surprising)

-- car is a cop magnet

-- car is a "please speed up into my blind spot to take a picture" car

-- 700 miles is VERY far in a go kart, especially when its 40degree's outside (felt like i was trapped in the woods on a snowy day)

-- thank jesus for balaclava's!!!... get one if you dont already have one, keeps the heat in and your head/neck warm.

-- would invest in mittens for over seal skin gloves

-- use blue tape for road trips on leading edges of front and moreso rear fenders (i have a few rock chips, and usually an advocate against blue tape...)

-- car gets 20mpg street driving aggressively.. and 22.5mph highway driving non aggressively (cheese grater)

-- need to invent a "mesh holder" for the anti sub hole on seat (think metal ring with mesh bag hanging from it that wont fall thru hole)

insurance says 6k a year max... .. either i'll hit 5500 and find new insurance or sell then. lol

Yep. Only another 27,000 miles to go before equalling Atom1 mileage. Should be no problem by June 2013, at that rate.

1600 miles after 3 weeks...

i need to calm down now.. first miles were on the car and driving it home, the second batch was getting the car registered..

from now on it's just pleasure driving and cruising..

oh cmon! i drove it in virginia and NC in the freezing cold!.. just need lots of layers and windproof ones... i still have frostbite on my hands from the gloves not being insulating enough. lol

Yeah. My mistake was.. the first Saturday I had it, my son and I bundled up for a 630a rendezvous with Curt and Mark for Cars and Coffee in Great Falls, VA .

28-32 degree and the wind chill from driving on the highways. Man.. I think I just need to put my jacket on thinking about it .

I said I'd just wait until the weather is warmer until I bring it out again. It will be mid 50s tomorrow so I'll take her out and add some (s)miles.
