Honestly, I would be more concerned with traveling at 10 mph with no steering wheel myself.

never noticed that, usually i turn on before getting in, but clearly the car is off there.

ill have to monitor that i guess... idk why it would be doing that.

    Its an SPA dash.

SPA sacrifices a small chicken in a voodoo ritual to get them to work. Sometimes the ghost of the chicken lives on in the dash causing occasional problems like this. personally, I put a small amount of hay on the back of the dash and the ghost chicken nests there and tends to cause less problems.

True, but, then comes chicken mating season and it is just a mess.

"SPA sacrifices a small chicken in a voodoo ritual to get them to work." Ha! Although, nothing is worse than Lucas electronics from my experience. (Maybe some of the chinese "industrial' stuff...)
The power of an Atom is a terrible thing to waste! Atom owner/operator since 2007. The more you chase perfection, the faster it becomes. John Force for President! (I asked him once in person...he laughed)

so when i cut car off, it sticks at 10/whatever... but car on the needles reset perfectly.. i think the switch cuts power quicker than the gauges can go down.. the gauges i know are dual regulated to be accurate.

Another 2.5 weeks to go until I get mine, can't wait. On the 12th day of Christmas my true love came to me, an atom under my Christmas tree.

In Top Gear S18E06, James May staps himself into a Caterham and then notices he's left the steering wheel on the bonnet and can't reach it without undoing his harness. He starts the car and blips the throttle to move the car and slide the wheel back to where he can reach it.

The instruments are stepper motor driven, not your conventional analogue electrical gauge, therefore the needles will stay where they were when power is cut to the motors.

Being off zero also helps on start up. Unless you have some expensive method of remembering position, the first step in a motion application is to establish the Home or Zero point. Thats why when you first power the dash you see the needle drive back to the brass stop pin and then forward to the zero mark.
