Winter Atom Series dates are set: Feb 2-3 & March 9-10, 2013 - Seeking Your Feedback

Hi Guys,

We've fixed two weekends in 2013 to host Atom racing at Spring Mountain Motor Resort. We want to invite all Atoms to join us for fun at the track.

Format (draft) for each weekend is expected to be as follows:

Saturday

o 3 to 4 - 20min practice sessions: All Atoms
o 1 qualifying session: SRA only
o 1 - 20 min race: SRA only
o 1- 20 min bracket race: All cars with proper safety
o Dinner with guest speakers: Honda Racing and/or TMI

Sunday

o 3 to 4 – 20 min practice sessions: All Atoms
o 1 Time Trial : All Atoms
o 1 qualifying session: SRA only
o 1 - 20 min race: SRA only

I’m anticipating 12 SRAs (most from ViR) and a bunch of Atom2 & Atom3 will participate. We will have at least one SRA available for rent as well. Honda Racing is expected to join us as well as Mark Swain from TMI and a couple of his staff. We will have catered lunches and a nice Sat eve dinner. Cost is expected to be around $350-400/day. There will be an additional fee for those entering the wheel to wheel races. This track is 45min outside of Vegas. Spring Mountain have excellent accommodations so your family would be most welcome to join as well.

I'm viewing it as a mini West Coast Atom Meet. Hopefully, I've given Pete enough time to fix his beast...

The daily schedule may change but the dates are firm. Let me know what you think and if you can join us.

We can probably find a multi-car trailer and get several Norcal guys to go in. It could be very cost effective. It would be great to see you and your Atom.

I'm in, some thoughts/questions:

1) It would be nice to have open access to the skidpad too if possible
2) $350-400 per day seems a bit expensive, any way to get the costs down a bit?
3) Rather then haul my Atom and Trailer back and forth from LA both times can we find a place to store it on-site between weekends?

Rich,

1) Yes, definitely (no extra charge )
2) This is a tentative price but likely close to the final. A very nice catered lunch and Sat dinner are included as well as other perks (see #1 above). Race insurance is costly and will add to the fee for wheel to wheel racers.
3)Yes, we can arrange that.

Depending on solid dates/prices I can probably make it. I think that's only ~700 miles for me.
