New Honda Close Ratio Gears - $909 and up.

These guys are legit. Seems like reasonable prices to me.

    Dear Payne,

although we've had our current K20A Close Ratio Gear Set available for several years now, this has mainly only been picked up by the dedicated race car. Not only are the ratios unsuitable for a street car, the $2500 price tag was also out of reach of most.

with our new, affordable, close ratio gear set now off the R&D stage and into production, we are happy to extend our limited pre-order spaces to our valued customers. Not only will you be the first to own the gear set (our initial batch is limited in numbers), you will also be able to pre-order the gear set at a vastly discounted price.

Why are we offering this? - As this gear set was developed exclusively for the street car (and/or weekend warrior), rather than our usual approach of developing for race applications first, we want to try to get as much exposure as possible in our target market. Rest assured, the same cutting-edge technology that goes into our race applications is also utilized with our street applications.

    Rating: 500whp
Profile: Semi-Helical (there will be some whine)
    1st (Optional): 3.10 or re-use OEM 3.266
    2nd: Re-use OEM 2.130
    3rd: 1.647 (OEM is 1.517)
    4th: 1.286 (OEM is 1.147)
    5th: 1.043 (OEM is 0.921)
    6th (Optional): 0.851 (OEM is 0.738)

The ratios have specifically been chosen so that each upshift will keep you around peak torque (i.e max. g acceleration). Unlike with the older VTEC engines which rely on high-rpm HP, the K-Series iVTEC makes torque. 6th Gear is optional, as we understand some customers would prefer to keep their existing 6th gear for cruising.

    MSRP 1st: $369.95
    MSRP 3rd-5th: $1299.95
    MSRP 3rd-6th: $1499.95
    Pre-Order Spaces Left: 10
    Pre-Order 1st: $258.95
    Pre-Order 3rd-5th: $909.95
    Pre-Order 3rd-6th: $1049.95
    ETA: Early Nov

    i) All prices exclude shipping and duty (where applicable)
ii) Pre-Orders require a $100 non-refundable deposit. However, if there are any unforeseen delays with production, purchaser reserves the right to a refund
iii) Promotional items (tbc) will be included with each Pre-Order

I'm not really considering it, but I bought magnetic plugs from them so I'm on their mailing list.

Do you ever pull your rig out of the hole? If so, this 1st would be better, if not not real reason to invest. Would it make a better 0-60? yes. if you do a bunch of 0-60s are you going break your tranny? yes.
